Sometimes it’s not always possible or convenient to attend therapy sessions at a clinic. Online therapy sessions offer an easier alternative with all of the benefits and none of the hassle.
About therapy sessions
Before your first session
When you book your first session either at the clinic in Leeds or online, you will receive an email containing your appointment details, along with further information and instructions to follow before your appointment. You may also be asked to complete a client information form. It is important that you provide as much information as you can when answering these questions, because this provides me with more information about why you are seeking therapy and enables me to prepare for your appointment.
Your first session
This is an opportunity for us to meet, have an in depth discussion about why you are seeking therapy and answer any questions you may have. We will discuss a number of things including; the issue you would like help with, your past experiences and goals, along with your role in the therapy process.
The first session is also the start of your therapy journey, which involves a bespoke and blended use of therapies such as Hypnotherapy, Counselling and NLP, combined with other talking therapies as appropriate.
Further therapy sessions
Therapy sessions provide a safe space for you to explore your situation, change behaviours and responses and move forwards. Each session usually involves a discussion about your current situation and progress since your last session, along with a combination of Hypnotherapy and/or other Talking Therapy techniques to help you get to where you want to be.
You may also be given exercises or tasks to complete in your own time between your sessions. These are designed to enhance the work done during your sessions and enable you to develop new skills and responses to help you achieve your goal(s).
Everyone responds to therapy differently and the number of sessions required varies from person to person, depending on a number of factors including the problem or issue and the type of therapy used, along with your active participation in the sessions.
Throughout your sessions, we focus on the outcome that you want to achieve and we use your goal as a guide to help us move from where you are now, to where you want to be.
